LUNA SEA The End of the Dream

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVE !!!!

Haha Hello im not here to wish you a happy new year but to blog about LUNA SEA's concert I attended yesterday. It was SO unforgettable that I had to.

I know la, most of my friends were also "YOU? JROCK BAND?" "You like Jrock one meh?"

The story is, back in those early teenage days, I always follow what my brother likes and listens to like a loser.  When he got to know about Luna Sea they just had their disbandment I think.. and he was replaying their Tokyo Dome concert FOR A HUNDRED TIMES.
And theres this song that is HELLA catchy.. it goes LALA LALALALALA~ LALA LALALALALALA~ LOVE TOGETHER~~~~
Anyway, the special part was that.. it was the band's last concert before they disband so the whole dome was singing to this song even after the band stopped playing, music all stopped.
It was really a very touching scene :) Here is the video!!! Urging everyone to watch it.

So after about 7-8years they got together again and they officially held a REBOOT tour in 2010. (thank you Wikipedia)
Few months ago, my excited brother came and tell me that LUNA SEA will be holding a concert in Singapore!
"OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY ARE COMING! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THEM!"

"Oh that band.. I thought they disband already?"

"THEY ARE BACK! AND THEY ARE COMING TO SINGAPORE. ITS LIKE MY DREAM TO WATCH THEM LIVE"

hahahahaha im not kidding he super fanboy when he was telling me.
Wow LUNA SEA in Singapore! Their live's gonna be so damn awesome, I thought. I even wanted to go to the concert with him but I wasnt feeling rich, as always.

This week, just a few days before the concert, Ying told me she got ticket for me to go to this concert!! Hell yeah I was really excited but abit worried cus I only know a few of their classic songs. Knowing Jrock fans, they super on and passionate wan.. so I HAD to do some research before I go!

So I found out that we have to wear black on that day because thats how the Japanese did.and MAN YOU GUYS SHOULD SEE HOW THE JAPANESE TURNED THE WHOLE STADIUM INTO PITCH BLACK. ALL of them really wore black top to toe.

This is us in black! :D

Back at home I was telling my brother.. in case he doesn't know that we have to wear black.
To my horror he was like "aiyah no need lah, im not like those fans...."
I replied "WHY YOU LAIDDAT. IF YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE NOT WEARING BLACK YOU WILL STAND OUT LIKE AN IDIOT, I WILL LAUGH AT YOU FOR SURE"

So he really wore black UMHAHAHHA

The banners that I didnt sign. Don't know Japanese.. feeling very loser-ish. LOL

& this is the venue for the concert! First time coming to Star Vista's theatre. It is beautiful but I was thinking.. how to rock in this place?! Machiam Esplanade.

But as soon as the music got louder and when the lights dimmed, EVERYONE from the ground floor stood up and chiong to the front!!!! They are like 2x more passionate than kpop fans ^^

I was feeling kinda bad that the place is only like half-filled but the energy level from the fans really made up the empty seats.

I was also very surprised at how friendly the band members are!!!!! Jrockers gave me the impression of  head bangs, cool and emtionless expression.. ok maybe those rocker expression.. you know..
Anyway their concept now aint really ROCK like the past so yea..

The way they interact with the fans are not your usual fanservice from kpop idols. Like for example, there was a short moment Inoran leaned towards the crowd and let his fans strum his guitar!
WTF PLEASEEEEE they must be really happy!!!!!
As you can see from the picture, the stage is really near to the audience!!!

Talented Sugizo was enjoying the never-ending cheers from his fans and he was head banging with them.. & lotsss of solo time to repay his fans.
Jun was the one that gave the most hand gestures to fans! Like 'JUMP!' 'I can't hear you!' 'I'm watching you!' 'Don't stop, louder!!!' 'You guys are great!'
I leave it to your imagination to imagine those hand gestures okay LOL
& he even threw his whole mic stand at one point!

Cheered the loudest for Shinya, the drummer and the hero. HE IS FREAKING GOD I've not seen someone so fast. I've been noticing him when I watch LUNA SEA's videos in the past.. hes just amazing and im really honoured to hear and see him live with the drums. Does he really have just a pair of hands?!

& I dont even need to say much about Ryuichi's vocals la. I was mind-blown by a sound effect that he made.. idek HOW to explain it.. its like my first time hearing that kinda sound coming from a human lolol. His voice is incredible.

This is the very irritating light that almost blinded me. The only bad thing about the concert =_=
But I forgive star vista because the lightings were reallyyyyyyy amazing it fits so perfectly into their themes throughout the concert. It is the perfect venue in Singapore for The End of the Dream tour because I read that they chose smaller concert halls for all their shows in this tour.

So all in all, everything is great. It was my first rock concert and I wasnt very high in the beginning because I really don't know much of their songs other than the classics. But who knows I was the one jumping and screaming during like.. the 2nd half lol.

When they finally sang I FOR YOU during encore, I finally get to sing along!!!! What can I say.. that song is just.. classic. Lol sorry for using this word so frequent in this post -lousy vocab-

And they ended with Wish and thanked Singaporean fans. They threw everything that can be thrown like towels, water bottles, drumsticks, guitar picks..! Lots of fans gonna go home happy!

I was impressed by LUNA SEA's humble attitude and love for their fans. Honestly I was quite worried they will not like the empty-looking hall but they showed zero disappointment and rocked like they were in Tokyo Dome. Such professionalism and legendary indeed. I am sure it is one of the best nights for SLAVES Singapore.

& yes my fanboy brother enjoyed it so much he still can't believe he watched LUNA SEA live.. lol coming from his FB post. And its like LUNA SEA concert part 2 in his room since morning today.
Can I say that I am also having the withdrawal? Sugizo said that they love Singapore and they will be back. Can't wait to rock another night with them! ^^

PEACE!
